The fifth Canathon was the first to be held in Hobart. The Royal Hobart Showgrounds at 
Glenorchy was chosen as the venue.  A Saturday Night Dinner was held here, with all 
members enjoying a great meal.  The night included a special 2-race greyhound meeting.

Th6tr1984can was significant in that it was the first to be designed by amember.  
None other than Mike #002 produced an attractive, if slightlytongue-in-cheek design 
which featured the Australian mainland as a smaller island aboveTasmania.
