The 1986 Adelaide Canathon was the first to be held in South Australia and it was the best  attended Canathon to date.

  A total of 175 members rolled up to the Oberdan Centre at Findon, with two attending from overseas.
The Canathon was listed as an official jubilee event for South Australia's 150th Anniversary celebrations.
