2003  CANathon

The 24th Canathon was the first Queensland Canathon to be held outside Brisbane.  The city 
of Ipswich was chosen, with all the events for the weekend being held at the one venue - The 
Ipswich Showgrounds.  
The Canathon can featured the Class A10 steam locomotive which was 
the first to be used in Queensland.  Ipswich was the terminus for the first every railway.  
The Saturday night function held at the Showplace Reception Centre was billed as a "Charity Night" 
with all proceeeds from th raffle going to the Ipswich Children's hospital.  Over $1500 was raised.
